The
month of June began with 6 tornadoes in Northwest Ohio and Michigan. This destructive force turned many
lives upside down with loss of life and millions in property damage. I am glad to say that CRBC recognized
the need and responded. After worship on June 6th a group purchased supplies and made 170 sandwiches
for one of the shelters formed that morning. 24 youth and adults helped remove trees and branches from
an elderly couple’s home in Moline. Monday thru Wednesday Aron organized groups of youth to help
out wherever possible. And Thursday 17 youth and adults helped remove limbs and trees in Dundee, MI.
We are exploring even more ways of being God’s hands and feet with the victims of these storms. You
will be informed of other ways to help! In the meantime let us remember to daily lift these folks up in
prayer.
July will be different
this year. We are not holding a VBS and in its place we are having a Soccer Camp. Our
soccer camp runs from July 27-30th at 6:30-8PM. However, in addition to soccer training the
gospel message will be presented in creative and meaningful ways. Also, our youth are planning mission
work here in the city of Toledo. Many things are occurring at CRBC and I thank God that we can plan ahead
in the accomplishment of His work and yet we have the heart and spontaneity to reach out when a need arises!
